Communication: Any information you provide when contacting our customer support, participating in surveys, or interacting with us through in-app messages.
Device Information: We automatically collect information about the device you use to access the app, including the device model, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
App Usage: We gather data on how you interact with the app, including feature usage, time spent within the app, and any error reports or crashes to improve the overall user experience.
Tracking: The app collects and processes real-time location data when users engage in features like One-To-One Tracking, Trip-Based Tracking, and GeoPhoto. This information is essential for the proper functioning of these features. With Always location permission, GeoTraq can share your position with people you approve even when the app is closed. iOS may show the system background-location indicator while this is on.
Location Push: When an approved person opens Tracking and your last trusted location is out of date, Apple may wake a small Location Push extension so the phone can send one fresh point. This is not continuous tracking and is not used as a heartbeat.
Location History: Non-trip location history is kept for up to 90 days. Rejected-point diagnostics (accuracy, source, and reason — no coordinates) are kept for up to 7 days so we can improve reliability.
Location-Tagged Photos: When using the GeoPhoto feature, the app captures and stores photos with associated geographic coordinates and timestamp information. This enhances the visual representation of memories and moments.
Trip Details: Information about your trips, including start and end locations, routes taken, distance traveled, expenses, and time consumed, is collected to generate accurate trip reports and enhance trip planning.
Push Notifications: With your consent, we may send push notifications to your device to provide updates on app features, promotions, or relevant information.

How We Use Your Information

Account Creation: The personal information provided during account creation is used to establish and manage your user account, ensuring secure access to the app.
Profile Information: Enhancing your user profile allows us to personalize your experience within the app based on your preferences, creating a more tailored and user-friendly environment.

Real-Time Tracking: Location data is used to facilitate real-time tracking between approved users, enhancing safety and connectivity. You can pause sharing, set hours, or stop a relationship at any time. We never share your Location Health details (motion permission, push registration) with watchers.
Location History: Historical location data, if consented, provides insights into past movements, aiding in trip planning and offering a comprehensive overview of user activities. Non-trip points older than 90 days and diagnostic rows older than 7 days are deleted when retention is enabled.
Location-Tagged Photos: The GeoPhoto feature captures and stores photos with associated geographic coordinates and timestamp information, creating a visual representation of memories and moments enriched with location context.

Push Notifications: With your consent, push notifications are sent to your device to keep you informed about app updates, promotions, and relevant information.

Empowering your control, the app allows you to customize privacy settings. You have the option to pause sharing, set hours, stop a tracking relationship, disable location services, or revoke app permissions at any time.
